Smiling Face: Hell on Earth Remake

THE EARTH IS DAMNED TO HELL!

A mod for DOOM II, Smiling Face reworked on the levels of this well-beloved game to enhance the gameplay experience for casual and hardcore Doom players alike.

In this revamped version of Doom II's events, you play as the DOOM Marine who just returned from Mars to do another job of keeping the forces of Hell away from your home planet. However, these enemies now behave differently from those that you encountered back in the red planet. Armed with UAC armaments, you decide to find the Starport compound in order to liberate the city and to call in the cavalry!

The events are set in the distant future where humans enjoy more technological advancements, but are still unable to contain these enigmatic forces from other dimension.

What to expect in this mod:

• Enhanced the vanilla levels of DOOM II with a bit of "realism" to increase immersion but retaining the open spaces for mobility purposes.
• Upgraded the lighting and the visual effects to boost the mood of the levels; that way, players will immerse themselves more easily as they slay the demons.
• Added an all-new soundtrack that are consistent with the overall look of each levels.
• The enemies are more competent and more unpredictable: they can open doors and are expected to ambush players in moments they least expect.
• While the monsters and the weapons are still in vanilla to make it compatible with mods and addons, custom textures are added to reflect the gritty cyberpunk aesthetic of this remake.
• Do to the versatile level design of each map, you can play this as much as you want and can be played with ANY mods that you desire, especially Brutal Doom.

NOTES:

Mouselook and jumping are both required, but crouching is optional. GZDOOM IS RECOMMENDED TO PLAY THIS MOD, but it is also compatible with Zandronum. THIS IS A MOD FOR DOOM II only. Refer to README and CREDITS for more information regarding this remake.
